In a new report titled “The Facts Hurt: A State-By-State Injury Prevention Policy Report,” nearly half of the states scored five or lower out of 10 in an injury report card. South Carolina scored 3 out of 10, which puts the state near the bottom of the list.

The new report, released by the Trust for America’s health (TFAH) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, has a startling conclusion: Millions of injuries could be prevented each year if more states adopted additional injury prevention policies. What’s more, the report suggests that states should fully implement and enforce policies to reduce risks of injury-related fatalities.
